Overview
CatFinder ("we", "us") operates the website catfinder.app. This page explains what information is collected when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. CatFinder is a free, informational website about cat breeds. We do not require accounts, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or other personal details unless you contact us directly.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are popular and how people find us). Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and the pages you visit. Your IP address is not stored by Google Analytics 4. You can learn more in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions, and Google AdSense and its advertising partners set cookies to serve and measure ads (see Advertising below). These cookies do not identify you by name. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site works fully without them.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google, to display ads on this site. Google and its partners use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance. Third-party services
Some resources on this site are loaded from third-party servers: Google Fonts (typography), Lucide icons (via the unpkg CDN), Google Analytics and Google AdSense (see above). When your browser requests these resources, the providers receive your IP address as part of the normal web request. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since we do not store personal data ourselves, such requests usually concern Google Analytics — use the opt-out link above, or contact us and we will help.
