Javanese

The Javanese is a longhaired Colorpoint Shorthair (or Balinese in non-traditional colors). They combine Siamese personality with a silky flowing coat in colors like red, cream, and tortie point. Intelligent, vocal, and devoted.

Javanese may develop heart issues, eye problems, and dental conditions like their Siamese relatives. Some may be prone to liver amyloidosis. Regular vet checkups are important. Lifespan is 12-15 years.

Their single-layer coat doesn't mat easily—weekly brushing is enough. Very social and need lots of interaction. Highly vocal. Provide puzzle toys and climbing spaces. Don't do well alone.
