Cornish Rex

The Cornish Rex has a distinctive curly coat that feels like crushed velvet. Originating from Cornwall, England, they have an elegant, arched body and egg-shaped head. They're playful, acrobatic cats that retain kitten-like energy throughout their lives.

Cornish Rex can be prone to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Patellar Luxation, and skin sensitivity. Their lack of guard hairs makes them sensitive to temperature. They may develop umbilical hernias. Generally healthy with 12-15 year lifespans.

Their unique coat needs minimal grooming—occasional gentle brushing. They get cold easily and appreciate warm spots and heated beds. Their large ears need regular cleaning. High metabolism means they need quality food and may eat more than expected.
