Overview

The Thai cat is the traditional, moderate-type Siamese—before modern breeding made Siamese more extreme. Also called 'Old-Style Siamese' or 'Wichien Maat,' they have the classic colorpoints but a more natural body shape.

Health

Thais may be prone to some Siamese health issues: dental problems, respiratory issues, and eye conditions. Generally healthier than modern extreme Siamese. Lifespan is 15-20 years.

Care & Grooming

Their short coat needs minimal grooming. Less vocal than modern Siamese but still talkative. Social cats who need companionship. Intelligent and trainable. They do well with other pets.
