Overview
The Sphynx appears hairless but actually has a fine peach-fuzz covering. Developed in Canada in the 1960s, they're known for their wrinkled skin, large ears, and incredibly affectionate personality. Don't let their alien appearance fool you—they're total love bugs.
Health
Sphynx cats can be prone to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), skin conditions, and respiratory issues. They're also sensitive to temperature extremes. Regular dental care is important as they're prone to gum disease.
Care & Grooming
Despite being 'hairless,' they need regular bathing (weekly) as oils build up on their skin. Keep them warm—sweaters may be needed in winter. Clean their large ears regularly. They need to be indoor cats and protected from sunburn.
