The Persian is one of the oldest and most recognizable cat breeds in the world. With their distinctive flat face, round eyes, and flowing coat, they've been prized companions for centuries. Persians are the epitome of a lap cat—calm, sweet-natured, and content to lounge in comfort.

Persians are prone to Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), respiratory issues due to their flat face (brachycephalic syndrome), and eye conditions like excessive tearing. Regular vet checkups and genetic testing are recommended. Their flat face can also cause dental issues.

Daily grooming is essential to prevent matting of their long coat. Their eyes need regular cleaning due to tear staining. Keep them indoors as their coat and flat face make them vulnerable. Feed a high-quality diet and monitor weight as they're prone to obesity.
