Temperament
Overview
The Manx is famous for being tailless, though they can have varying tail lengths from none to full. Originating from the Isle of Man, they're powerful jumpers with a rounded appearance. They're loyal, playful cats often called 'dog-like' in behavior.
Health
The same gene causing taillessness can cause 'Manx Syndrome'—spinal defects leading to incontinence or mobility issues. Never breed two completely tailless Manx together. Screen for spinal issues. Generally healthy otherwise.
Care & Grooming
Their double coat needs weekly brushing, more during shedding. They're adaptable cats who do well in most environments. Provide interactive play—they're natural hunters. Watch for any signs of spinal issues, especially in kittens.
