Overview

The Korat is one of the oldest natural breeds, from Thailand where they're considered good luck. Their distinctive silver-blue coat and heart-shaped face make them striking cats. They're intelligent, playful, and form strong bonds with their families.

Health

Korats can be prone to GM1 and GM2 Gangliosidosis (neurological conditions)—genetic testing is available. They may also develop low body fat percentage. Generally healthy with 15-20 year lifespans. Buy from tested breeders.

Care & Grooming

Their single-layer coat needs minimal grooming—weekly brushing is enough. They don't like loud noises or chaos—prefer calm environments. Provide interactive play and puzzle toys. They're social and do well with other pets.
