Egyptian Mau

The Egyptian Mau is the only naturally spotted domestic cat, with ancestry possibly tracing to ancient Egypt. They're the fastest domestic cat breed, capable of running 30 mph! Reserved with strangers but devoted to their families, they're sensitive, loyal cats.

Egyptian Maus can be prone to Leukodystrophy (a neurological condition) and heart disease. Some may develop urolithiasis (bladder stones). They're sensitive to cold and anesthesia. Regular vet checkups are important.

Their short, spotted coat needs minimal grooming. They're sensitive cats who prefer calm environments and consistent routines. Provide lots of running space and climbing opportunities. They bond deeply and don't like being left alone.
