Temperament
Overview
The Cymric (pronounced KIM-rick) is the longhaired version of the Manx, sharing the same tailless gene and rounded appearance. They're intelligent, playful cats who often act more like dogs—learning tricks and playing fetch.
Health
Like Manx, Cymrics can develop Manx Syndrome—spinal issues from the tailless gene. Never breed two completely tailless cats together. Screen for spinal problems. Lifespan is 9-13 years, less if health issues present.
Care & Grooming
Their long double coat needs regular brushing to prevent matting. Watch for any signs of mobility or bathroom issues that could indicate spinal problems. They're active, intelligent cats who need mental stimulation and play.
