Chartreux

The Chartreux is France's native cat, known for their blue-gray 'waterproof' coat and copper eyes. Often called 'smiling cats' for their expression, they're quiet, gentle, and observant. They're excellent hunters who bond deeply with their families.

Chartreux can be prone to Patellar Luxation (knee issues) and Polycystic Kidney Disease. Some may develop urinary tract issues. They're generally healthy, robust cats with lifespans of 12-15 years.

Their dense, woolly coat needs weekly brushing, more during shedding. They're adaptable cats who handle travel well. Provide hunting toys to satisfy their natural instincts. They're not demanding but enjoy interactive play.
