Overview
The Burmilla originated from an accidental mating between a Burmese and a Chinchilla Persian in 1981. They have a shimmering silver coat with subtle shading. Playful but less demanding than Burmese, they're affectionate without being clingy.
Health
Burmillas can inherit health issues from both parent breeds: Polycystic Kidney Disease from Persian side and allergies. Some may develop dental issues. Regular vet checkups are important. Lifespan is typically 12-15 years.
Care & Grooming
Their short, silky coat needs weekly brushing. They're adaptable cats who do well with families and other pets. Moderately active—enjoy play but also happy to relax. They're social but can handle some alone time.
