Burmese

The Burmese is a compact, muscular cat with a silky coat and expressive golden eyes. Originally from Burma (Myanmar), they're known for their dog-like personality and unwavering devotion to their humans. They're often called 'velcro cats' for how closely they stick to their owners.

Burmese can be prone to Diabetes Mellitus, Hypokalemia (low potassium), and cranial deformities in some lines. They may also develop eye conditions. Regular vet checkups are important. With good care, they live 15-18 years.

Their short, satin coat needs minimal grooming—weekly brushing is enough. They're highly social and don't do well alone; consider getting two. They remain playful well into adulthood and need daily interactive play. Watch their diet as they can gain weight.
