The British Longhair is the longhaired version of the British Shorthair, with the same chunky body and calm personality but with a luxurious flowing coat. Sometimes called 'Lowlanders,' they're gentle, easygoing companions.

Health

British Longhairs can be prone to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). They're prone to obesity. Regular health screenings are recommended. Lifespan is 12-15 years.

Care & Grooming

Their long coat needs brushing 2-3 times weekly to prevent matting. Watch their weight—they gain easily. They're not demanding but enjoy gentle play. Calm cats suited to quieter households.
