Temperament
Overview
Bengals were created by crossing domestic cats with Asian Leopard Cats, giving them their stunning wild appearance. Their spotted or marbled coat resembles a miniature leopard, but they're fully domesticated. They're incredibly athletic, intelligent, and often love water.
Health
Bengals can be prone to Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), and Flat Chested Kitten Syndrome. Some may have sensitive stomachs. Buy from reputable breeders who test for genetic conditions.
Care & Grooming
Their short, luxurious coat needs minimal grooming. However, they need extensive play and exercise—at least 30 minutes of active play daily. Provide climbing structures, puzzle toys, and consider leash training. Many Bengals enjoy playing in water.
